The Crew Deck

All Comms Down uses a 52 card crew deck with standard playing card distribution. There are 4 suits and each card has a different rank e.g. Mechanic (4), Scientist (9), Pilot (10), Kaptain (K).

Game Play

Players start with 5 cards each. On your turn play a card to the middle, then draw back up to 5.

Players are working as a team, trying to make the best possible poker hand without talking.

Once 5 cards have been played to the table, the hand is scored.

Scoring

Players have just 4 hands to accumulate the Mission’s target score to progress. Complete 5 missions to win the game.

The team gain points based on the poker hand that has been made. Additionally one card is picked to act as the Leader of the hand. They provide a bonus based on their rank.

Upgrades

Upgrades give you powerful abilities to change the game to your advantage. Use upgrades to signal your intentions, or to help build high scoring hands.

To activate an upgrade, move one energy cube from the upgrade to the general supply, then carry out the action described on the upgrade card.

Most upgrades have a limited number of activations per mission, so you’ll have to think carefully when to use them.

Hazards

Each mission features new hazards which the team will have to navigate. There are 2 types of Hazard, Out of Action and Must Make.

Out of Action hazards block certain ranks, or even whole suits. These cards can’t score for the rest of the mission.

Must Make hazards feature a particular poker hand which must be made before the end of the mission.

Promotions

After complete a mission you can promote hazard cards. Promoted cards will score you bonus points in future missions when triggered.

When scoring, add the promotion bonus for each card that matches a promoted rank or suit.

If you promote a Must Make card, receive the promotion bonus every time the listed hand is made.
